Two vacancies for scientific developers (ecology or LiDAR remote sensing)

2020-06-26

We are looking for (1) a scientific developer for essential biodiversity variables workflows, and (2) a scientific developer for ecological applications of LiDAR Remote Sensing. Both people will be employed by LifeWatch ERIC, the European Infrastructure Consortium providing e-Science research facilities to scientists working on biodiversity and ecosystems. The persons will be placed in our BIOMAC lab at the Institute for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Dynamics (IBED), University of Amsterdam. For both positions, collaborations with computer scientists and software engineers are envisaged to make the workflows and tools available in the context of a Virtual Research Environment (VRE). This will be done through close interactions with the Quality Critical Distributed Computing team of the Multiscale Networked Systems (MNS) research group lead by Zhiming Zhao from the Informatics Institute of the University of Amsterdam.
