Editor's choice in Diversity & Distributions

In our study in Diversity & Distributions (https://doi.org/10.1111/ddi.12946), we quantified current and potential future associations of functional diversity (based on multiple traits) and functional identity (based on individual traits) between plant and bird communities by using climate change forecasts and range shift scenarios as well as morphological traits that have been shown to be important for plant–frugivore interactions. Our results show that correspondence between plant and bird functional diversity as well as functional identity is weakest under a range contraction scenario, and that functional diversity and functional identity will most likely decrease at low elevations. The study has been highlighted as editor's choice. Read the full paper full paper or a news item.
