Babak has research interests in remote sensing, spatial and spatiotemporal statistics, species distribution modelling, and the dynamics of ecosystems and biodiversity, and works at the interface of geo-informatics and biodiversity/macroecology. His position is partially supported through the University of Amsterdam Faculty Research Cluster ‘Global Ecology’.
